Three drug peddlers arrested with Brown Sugar from Barjala
Three drug peddlers were arrested with huge quantities of Brown Sugar, when they were busy dealing the drug to their customers at Barjala area under New Capital Complex (NCC) police station of Agartala on Monday.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of NCC police station Sushanta Deb said that they had received specific information over dealing of drugs in the Barjala area by some suspected drug peddlers. Immediately, a police team rushed to the spot and caught three of them red-handed.
He said that arrested drug peddlers were identified as Animesh Ghosh, Sanjoy Debnath and Chayan Roy of Barjala and Shyamali Bazar areas and police has recovered 560 vials filled with Brown Sugar, worth of Rs. 1.5 lakh, cash amount of Rs. 2980 and a mobile phone under their possessions.
On Monday afternoon, they were produced before a local court with a specific case of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and with three days police remand appeals for interrogation to unearth their nexus with drug smugglers.
