Three more Bangladesh nationals and an Indian tout arrested from Agartala Railway station

Amidst tight vigil along the India-Bangladesh border, the infiltration from the unrest hit Bangladesh into Tripura continued and on Wednesday again three more citizens of the neighbouring country including an Indian human trafficker were arrested by the security forces from Agartala railway station before boarding to a long distance train.

After unrest in Bangladesh, the infiltration into the Northeastern states especially in Tripura and Assam has continued and in the last few months hundreds of Bangladesh nationals along with Rohingyas were arrested by security forces from different borders of the state.

During the past two week, more than 20 Bangladeshi, Rohingyas and human traffickers (Touts) were arrested from different parts of the state by security forces.

On Wednesday again, the Government Railway Police (GRP) , BSF, RPF and intelligence wing arrested three more Bangladeshi including two females and an Indian tout from Agartala Railway station before boarding a long distance train.

Giving details, OC of GRP station of Agartala Railway station, Tapash Das said that a joint contingent of GRP, RPF and BSF based on secret information on Wednesday afternoon managed to arrest three Bangladeshi before their escape bid towards a long distance train.

The Bangladeshi citizens after illegally entering Tripura were trying to board a train to go to Kolkata towards their destination in Gujarat.

Das said that arrested Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Mong Senu Mog (25) of Khagrachari district of Bangladesh, Sukhi Aktar (26) and Babita Debnath (45) of Patoakhali, Bangladesh and arrested Indian tout was identified as Shyamal Das (22) of East Dukli Housing Board under West Tripura district.

All arrested Bangladeshi and Indian tout have been produced before a local court for further legal action.

It may be recalled here that the bordering Tripura, which is a top hotspot travelling destination for human trafficking, specially for Rohingyas and Bangladesh nationals, who were illegally entered into Indian territory and moves towards other parts of the country through different means of surface communication with help of Indian and Bangladeshi touts, but many time, the alert security forces have also managed to detain them.

Officials said that all the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas illegally entered Tripura to board trains or buses to go to other states in India “in search of jobs”.
