Three thieves involved looting of grocery items arrested
A group of thieves, who created panic among grocery shop owners in different parts of the capital city Agartala, were arrested by the New Capital Complex (NCC) police on Friday.
Giving details, OC of NCC police station, Sushanta Deb said that the police have received many complaints over looting away of different grocery items including rice bags from different shops, who entered grocery shops as customers and after taking items, they left their spot with their cars.
Based on the complaints from many traders, the NCC police station has started an investigation and through scientific evidence including analyzing CCTV footage, police managed to identify them.
On Friday, two thieves Bijoy Banik and Bijoy Dhanuk were arrested, who looted grocery items and rice bags from shops of Goyala Basti, GB-79 Tilla, Khajurbagan, Aralia areas.
Deb said that after looting grocery items, these two thieves sold their stolen items to one Ashutosh Sharma and police Friday have also arrested him. Police also recovered all stolen items under possession of arrested Ashutosh Sharama.
All trios have been produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation to get details of their robbery network.
