TMC office in Agartala attacked, senior leaders from WB to visit city

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday alleged that the headquarters of the party unit in Agartala was vandalized by members of the ruling BJP's youth wing.
The incident happened a day after an attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Sankar Ghosh in a flood-hit area in Northern West Bengal.
TMC through a press statement said that “The violent attack on @AITC4Tripura's office by BJP-backed goons is not an isolated act of aggression; it is an open assault on democracy. When those in power unleash violence to silence their opponents, they expose not strength, but fear and moral bankruptcy. The BJP talks about “saving democracy” while burning its very foundations, state after state. They may destroy offices, tear posters, and intimidate workers — but they cannot destroy the spirit of resistance that lives in every Trinamool worker and every citizen who believes in justice,” said the TMC statement and added that “We will not be silenced. We will not back down. The people of Tripura and India are watching.”
While, TMC state president Santanu Saha alleged that a large group of BJP Yuva Morcha activists attacked the party office at the Motor Stand area of the city.
They damaged some furniture and the signboard of the party office. The attackers also raised slogans, condemning the Trinamool Congress, he said.
Saha said the TMC had informed the local police station about the possibility of an attack, but no action was taken.
He also said that a party delegation from Kolkata is expected to arrive in the state on Wednesday including Kunal Ghosh, MPs Sayani Ghosh, Sushmita Dev, Pratima Mandal and Sudip Raha to assess the situation. The party will lodge an FIR over the incident after meeting with the party delegation, said Saha.
