Tragic road mishap at GB Road, injured woman’s hand cut off
In a tragic road accident, one woman suffered critical injuries and one of her hand cut off when two auto-rickshaws collided face on in the middle of the road at the backside of old Raj Bhavan under NCC police station of Agartala on Monday morning.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of NCC police station, Sushanta Deb said that one Pramanika Datta (30) of Nandannagar boarded a reserved auto-rickshaw from her house towards her destination. When, the auto-rickshaw reached GB Hospital road and at the backside of the old Governor house collided face on with another auto-rickshaw. As a result, she suffered critical injuries and during the heavy collision, one her hand was chopped off and fell in the ground..
Police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured woman to GB Hospital in critical condition.
Deb added that they have seized both offending auto-rickshaws and have also arrested one accused auto driver.
While, mother (Chayarani Debbarma) of the injured woman alleged that her daughter lost one of her hand due to reckless driving of an auto-rickshaw driver and demanded stringent punishment.
