The Tripura Legislative Assembly has decided to send 700 Queen Pineapples, one of the state’s most renowned agricultural products, as seasonal gifts to several prominent national leaders, including Union Ministers, the BJP national president and the Chief Minister of Delhi.

As per an official letter issued by the Private Secretary to the Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Rampada Jamatia  on June 12 last to the Secretary of Tripura Legislative Assembly, arrangements have been directed for the collection, packaging and transportation of the pineapples. A total of 700 Queen Pineapples will be packed in seven cartons, each containing 100 fruits.

The letter states that the pineapples will be dispatched through air cargo or railway parcel service between June 16 and June 19, with the Directorate of Horticulture and Agriculture department being informed about the process.

As per the letter, the recipients of the seasonal gift include Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, Jual Oram, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Durga Das Uikey, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Nitin Nabin, mentioned in the letter as the national president of the BJP and  Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi.

The official communication, signed by Prem Kumar Jamatia, Private Secretary to the Speaker, said the initiative is being undertaken as a gesture from the Tripura Legislative Assembly to promote the state’s famous Queen Pineapple and extend seasonal greetings to the dignitaries.

The Queen Pineapple of Tripura, known for its unique sweetness and aroma, has gained recognition across the country and has become an important symbol of the state’s horticultural excellence.
