Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has written a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completion of twelve years in office, describing the period as a transformative era for the country and for Tripura in particular.
In the letter dated on Wednesday, Dr Saha said the people of Tripura remain “forever grateful” for the Prime Minister’s visionary HIRA model — Highways, Internetways, Railways and Airways — which, he said, fundamentally altered the state’s development trajectory.
The people of Tripura will forever remain grateful for your vision of HIRA model – Highways, Internetways, Railways and Airways, which has fundamentally altered the development trajectory of our State.
Reflecting the message conveyed in the accompanying Bengali text, the Chief Minister said a state that was once geographically constrained and landlocked has been transformed through modern infrastructure, improved connectivity and new opportunities. He noted that Tripura has emerged as a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia through enhanced road networks, broad-gauge rail connectivity, expanding air services and stronger digital infrastructure.
Dr Saha added that under Modi’s “far-sighted leadership,” the Northeast today occupies an important place in the national development mainstream. He credited sustained infrastructure investment, policy attention and the Act East Policy with strengthening the region’s integration into India’s broader growth story and opening new avenues for trade and economic expansion.
The Chief Minister’s letter also highlighted the impact of central government schemes in Tripura, including pucca housing, Ayushman Bharat healthcare benefits, direct benefit transfers, financial inclusion initiatives and opportunities created by the digital economy. He said women have gained a larger role through Self-Help Groups, youth have benefited from better connectivity, education and employment prospects, and marginalized communities have been supported through targeted welfare programmes such as PM JANMAN.
Recalling Modi’s visit to Tripura on September 22, 2025, for the inauguration of the renovated Mata Tripureshwari Temple Complex, Dr Saha said the people of the state fondly remember the occasion and appreciated the Centre’s continued support for the development of the Mata Tripureshwari Temple Circuit, which he said has strengthened cultural pride and contributed to socio-economic development.
Reaffirming faith in the Prime Minister’s leadership as India advances toward the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Dr. Saha concluded with a prayer that the blessings of Mata Tripura Sundari remain upon Modi so that he may continue to draw strength and inspiration for national service.
Concluding the letter, Dr. Saha extended his best wishes and prayed for the blessings of Mata Tripura Sundari upon the Prime Minister as he continues to lead the nation towards becoming a developed and globally respected India.
