Tripura's budget nearly doubles in just six years
Tripura has experienced a remarkable surge in its budget, nearly doubling from the 2017-18 Financial Year to the 2023-24 FY.
Even the budget allocated for the Janajati development was also significantly increased from Rs 403 crores(FY 2017-18) to Rs 1081 crores(2023-24).
On Friday, the state budget for the upcoming financial year was presented, amounting to Rs 27,654.40 crore, with projected capital expenditures of Rs 5,358.70 crore.
Comparatively, during the 2017-18 Financial Year under the previous Left Front Government, the budget stood at Rs 15,956.56 crore.
This substantial increase in the budget reflects the significant growth since the BJP formed the government in the state.
This substantial increase in the budget reflects the proactive approach to governance and development taken by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and his administration. The BJP government's focus on promoting economic growth and welfare has led to a projected growth rate of 8% for the upcoming financial year, compared to the 6% estimated growth rate during the 2017-18 Financial Year.
Under the previous Left Front Government, approximately 9 new schemes were introduced during the 2017-18 Financial Year. However, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, the BJP government has introduced a noteworthy 13 new schemes, indicating a proactive approach to governance and development in the state.
