Truck driver mysteriously killed by strangulation allegedly by assistant
A body of a truck driver was recovered inside the cabin of the truck in mysterious condition and the deceased’s man throat was tied with a towel with blood stains in entire face on Wednesday midnight near Anandanagar primary health centre, at the outskirts of Agartala.
Police sources said that the deceased trick driver identified as Anil Dey of South Anandanagar was returned from Kulai area of Dhalai district on Wednesday night after unloading stone chips with his assistant Kanu Debbarma, but did not return to his house.
When, in the midnight of Wednesday, the inmates of his house started searching him, they found his Tipper truck was parked near the Anandanagar primary health centre and when they opened the door of the truck, the relatives found his lifeless body in the cabin with pool of blood blowing from his face and his neck was tied with a towel. By that time, the assistant of the truck was also missing from the scene.
Later, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital morgue for autopsy. Police also seized the truck and collected all circumstantial evidence from the crime scene.
Police sources said that apparently it seems that the deceased was killed by strangulation, but the final cause of death could be ascertained after findings of the autopsy report. Police also registered a case based on the complaint of Rajib Dey, son of the deceased truck driver and has launched a search operation to arrest suspected killer , truck assistant Kanu Debbarma.
