TSR jawan get life term for killing two colleagues
A local court of Sepahijala district on Tuesday sentenced life imprisonment to a accused TSR jawan for killing one Subedar and Naid Subedar.
On December 4th, 2021 at Konabon GCS Point, accused TSR jawan Sukant Das shot Subedhar Markhsin Jamatia and Naib Subedar Kiran Kumar Jamatia with his service rifle over a dispute on leave. After killing two officers, the accused jawan surrendered with his rifle at the Madhupur police station.
Later, Commandant of 5th battalion TSR, Ranga Dulal Debbarma filed an FIR against the accused TSR jawan in Madhupur police station for killing two officers.
On the next day of the incident, police produced him before the sub-divisional court of Bishalgarh and the court sent him to jail custody. The investigating officer of the case, Subhajit Deb, kept the accused in jail for a long time and presented a charge sheet before the court. After recording witnesses of 38 people in the said case, Bishalgarh Additional Session judge Debashis Kar announced rigorous imprisonment of life and a fine of Rs 50,000 under section 302 of IPC on Tuesday afternoon.
