Villagers submits deputation to SDPO-Mohanpur demanding justice over death of a youth
A large number of villagers of Lefunga on Monday gheraoed the SDPO office of Mohanpur of West Tripura district demanding immediate arrest all accused persons involved in a alleged abetment of suicide charges.
Sources said that one Aichuk Debbarma of Joyram Para under Lefunga police station was attacked by a group of youths in the same locality near Bodhjungnagar Gas Battling centre and thrashed him severally when he returned back to his home after Kharchi festival on July 19 night.
After getting humiliation, Aichuk on July 20 committed suicide and his family members registered an FIR at Budhjungnagar police against all accused persons, who were involved with attack on him under murder and abetment of suicide charges.
Subsequently, police registering the FIR have also arrested two accused persons, but five more accused are on the run.
Demanding arrest of all accused persons and justice, a large number of villagers on Monday gheraoed the office of the SDPO-Mohanpur.The locals gave details about their demands while speaking with media
Mrinal Pal, OC of the Lembucherra police outpost said that 2 youths have already been arrested after the incident and efforts are on to arrest the rest.
