Youth killed in road mishap when busy with Kirtan collections at Bishalgarh
In a tragic road, a youth who was busy to subscription collection for Bishalgarh Bazar’s ‘Kirtan’ Utsav (Festival) died after a speeding auto-rickshaw dashed him from his back at Chelikhala area of Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district.
Police sources said that on Saturday evening one youth identified as Sujit Das (35) of Chelikhala area along with other from market committee of Bishalgarh market was bsut with collection of subscriptions for Kirtan festival in the market. All of sudden, they were on the side of a national highway, and a speeding auto-rickshaw dashed him from his back and critically injured him.
Immediately, local people shifted him to Bishalgarh hospital with critical head injuries and after primary treatment, the injured youth was referred to Tripura Medical College (TMC) in Agartala. But, on the way to hospital, Sujit Das succumbed due to his critical head injuries.
The parents of the victim youth were in Gaya for pilgrimage and on Sunday morning after autopsy, his mortal remains were brought to his native village, which has cast a shadow of deep grief and mourning.
Police said that they have seized the offending vehicle and have registered a specific case.
