Four men escape Indian restaurant in Northampton without paying £200 bill
An Indian restaurant in Northampton city of England, shared their CCTV footage, which showed a group of men moving out of their facility without paying a £200 bill.
The incident happened on August 4 in Saffron, a well-known restaurant located on Castilian Street.
The restaurant said the group ate a full meal, which included a selection of curries, lamb chops, and other dishes, in their facility.
Sharing the video footage on Facebook, the restaurant wrote: "Last night at approximately 10:15 PM, four young men entered our restaurant, enjoyed a full meal, and left without paying. This kind of behaviour isn’t just theft, it affects hardworking small businesses and our local community."
"We urge neighbouring businesses to stay alert," the restaurant said.
"If you recognise these individuals or have any information, please contact us directly or report it to the police. Help us hold these people accountable, there’s no place for this kind of behaviour in our community," the police said.
Northamptonshire Police said they have started investigating the incident.
Northamptonshire Police told Northampton Chronicle: “We are investigating this incident as a theft and anyone with any information as to who the males are should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 25000457718.”
A representative of the restaurant told the newspaper that such an incident has a significant impact.
They said: “It's a big impact. Business as it is, we're 30 per cent down. It's very quiet at the moment… for a Monday night, it's mostly half of our takings.”
