Mexico: Social media influencer Denisse Reyes dies after undergoing liposuction surgery
27-year-old Mexican social media influencer Denisse Reyes died from complications after suffering liposuction surgery at an unauthorized clinic in Chiapas state.
She underwent the surgery at San Pablo Medical Clinic in the southern state of Chiapas.
At the clinic, Reyes was administered an intravenous medication by her surgeon Dr. Orlando Gamboa prior to the procedure, reported New York Post.
According to reports, she had a negative reaction to the medicine which eventually led to her death.
“She starts to feel sick and goes into cardiac arrest and at that moment they take her out of the room where she was in the [clinic],” Ammao Rodriguez, Reyes’ uncle, was quoted as saying by New York Post.
She was rushed to Manzur Hospital.
She died at the medical facility.
She reportedly had no prior health conditions.
Ammao said he is in contact with Chiapas health authorities and intends to file a lawsuit against Dr. Gamboa.
Reyes’ sister, Massiel Reyes, paid tributes to her in Facebook post where she wrote: " Saying goodbye as you deserve."
