Pakistan: Cop dies after unknown attackers target him
A policeman was killed after unknown attackers targeted him in Pakistan's Khar area on Sunday, media reports said.
The cop, identified as Ismail Khan, was returning home from a nearby market after shopping when the assailants ambushed him in the Badisamoor area, rescue officials told Dawn News while quoting locals.
The victim,38, was critically wounded and died after he was administered first aid at the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar.
District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq told Dawn News the martyred cop was head of the Quick Response Force of district police.
The police team immediately rushed to the spot, but they fled.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
