Pakistan: Grenade lobbed in senior police official's residence in Balochistan, 5 injured
At least five people, including children, were injured after grenades were lobbed at the house of a senior police official located in Pakistan's Balochistan region on Monday, media reports said.
The house reportedly belonged to Hub City Station House Officer (SHO) Qadir Sheikh.
Speaking to Dawn.com, Khuzdar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Javed Zehri said unknown assailants threw a hand grenade on a house in the Kaushik area of Khuzdar City
The cause of the attack is still not known.
It is currently being investigated.
Two major terror attacks in Pakistan
Balochistan has been witnessing a spike in terror activities with major attacks reported in the past week.
Balochistan Liberation Army, a rebel group, claimed responsibility for the suicide attack where a blast targeted a convoy carrying Pakistani security forces in Balochistan’s Noskhi district recently.
BLA claimed 90 Pakistani soldiers died in the incident.
Before the attack, BLA claimed responsibility for hijacking the Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Sibi area in which 26 people, including 18 security forces, died.
