Pakistan: Three people, including two women, killed in drone strike in Balochistan; locals blame Army

At least three people, including two women, died, and five others were injured after an alleged drone strike by the Pakistani Army hit Zehri region in Pakistan's Balochistan region on Wednesday.

The strike took place near Tarasani, where relatives said the family had returned home after offering condolences in Surab and were gathered outside a house when they were targeted, reported The Balochistan Post.

The victims were identified as 40-year-old Bibi Amna, wife of Sanaullah; 41-year-old Lal Bibi, wife of Ali Akbar; and 30-year-old Muhammad Hassan, son of Muhammad Yaqoob.

The injured people were shifted to Khuzdar for treatment.

Local sources told The Balochistan Post that the drones continued to fly over the area after the strike, spreading fear among residents.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said the strike targeted a hideout of Baloch armed fighters and killed four “insurgents", the news portal reported.

Locals, however, refuted the claim and said the deceased people were civilians.

Condemning the attack, The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) wrote on X: "This systematic targeting of civilians amounts to a war crime and forms part of the larger Baloch genocide—a campaign of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and now aerial bombardments, unfolding under an information blackout."
