The hearing, to be conducted by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, is set for February 19, reported Samaa TV.

The proceedings will also be overseen by Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Musarrat Hilali who will be part of the bench.

The petition, filed by Brig (retd) Ali Khan, alleges that pre-poll rigging and delays in the announcement of election results posed a significant threat to democratic principles, the news portal reported.

The petitioner argued that in light of these concerns, the formation of a government following the February 8 elections should be halted. Instead, Khan proposes that the Supreme Court order a fresh election under its supervision.

Pakistan voted to elect a new government on February 8.

However, none of the parties could form a government after failing to touch the majority.

Parties are now trying to form an alliance to form the next government.
