Toddler dies after robbers resort to indiscriminate firing in Pakistan's Korangi
A toddler girl lost her life and a young woman sustained injuries after unidentified suspects opened fire during a robbery incident in Pakistan's Korangi region on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as two-year-old Hoorain Hassan.
20-year-old Rafia was injured in the incident and shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
Korangi police station SHO Amin Solangi told The Express Tribune that three suspected robbers attempted to steal a motorbike of a resident Hasan [the deceased toddler’s father] from outside his house.
After he resisted, area residents gathered at the scene which prompted the robbers to open indiscriminate firing.
The toddler died in the incident while she was playing with other children in the area.
The SHO added that an investigation into the matter has been initiated
