Passenger caught with gold worth Rs 8.90 lakh hidden in Nutella jars in Tamil Nadu's Trichy airport
Chennai: The law enforcement personnel at Tamil Nadu’s Trichy airport arrested a passenger after they caught the person with illegal gold hidden inside Nutella jars, media reports said.

Acting on a tip-off, the Airport Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Trichy airport seized one gold bar of 24K purity weighing 149.000 grams, valued at Rs. 8.90 lakhs, reported ANI citing customs officials.

Recently, two passengers were arrested at Bengaluru airport with 48,000 cigarettes worth Rs 8.2 lakh. They had arrived from Bangkok on a Thai AirAsia flight.
In April, a woman was arrested at Chennai airport after she was found carrying 22 snakes in her bag while traveling from Kuala Lumpur.
