Piyush Goyal meets Tesla officials at carmaker's Fremont factory
San Francisco: The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal visited the Tesla Factory Unit in Fremont, United States and interacted with the senior executives of the Tesla group, a government statement said.

Goyal arrived in San Francisco on November 13 on a three-day tour to take part in the ministerial meeting of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).
Later in the day, he held bilateral meetings with United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai, South Korea’s Minister of Trade Republic Dukgeun Ahn, and Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.

The meetings involved discussions encompassing potential collaboration under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), ways and means of further enhancing bilateral trade and commerce linkages, matters related to WTO, and other issues of mutual interest.
During the interaction with his Singaporean and South Korean counterparts, the Commerce and Industry Minister suggested an expedited conclusion of the review of AITIGA and CEPA respectively.

The event was attended by venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from a wide spectrum of Industries in the US, including from the domains of energy, manufacturing, logistics, technology, and so on.
In an interactive session, the Minister held wide-ranging discussions with the participants and highlighted the various steps taken by the Indian government to improve the ease of doing business in India.
During the visit, the Commerce and Industry Minister will participate in the third in-person IPEF Ministerial meeting and the engagements of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
He will also interact with eminent business persons, US officials and industry leaders during the visit to fortify the partnership between the two nations and strengthen trade and economic ties.
