"Last year, I announced the opening of a new Indian consulate in Seattle. I sought your suggestions for two additional consulates. India has now decided to open two new consulates in Boston and Los Angeles," PM Modi said.

He made this announcement during an address to the Indian community in New York's Nassau Coliseum, packed with excited and cheerful-looking faces welcoming the Indian PM with chants of "Modi, Modi".

The Prime Minister lauded the Indian Diaspora as being "the country's strongest brand ambassadors."

"Wherever I go, I mix with all people considering my family. Understanding diversity, living it, incorporating it into our lives...this is in our culture," the Prime Minister, who is in the US for the Quad Summit and the Summit of the Future, added.

Stressing unity in diversity, Modi said, "We have multiple languages but our feelings are the same. The feeling is Indianness."

"For the world, AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. But I believe AI also represents the America-India spirit," the Prime Minister, who returned to power back home in 2024 but with the support of allies, said.

The Prime Minister also reminded the Indian diaspora about the roadmap to Viksit Bharat, the goal his government aims to achieve by 2047.

"PUSHP combines five pillars that will build Viksit Bharat. PUSHP stands for Progressive, Unstoppable, Spiritual, Humanity First and Prosperous," he said.

More than 16,000 people travelled from all corners of the US overnight to attend PM Modi's speech at the community reception.
