'Complete lawlessness': Suvendu Adhikari writes to Bengal Guv over Malda violence
Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari on Friday wrote a letter to Governor CV Ananda Bose seeking a direction from him to the state government for an immediate deployment of central force in Malda's Mothabari where a violence took place.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shared a video where miscreants were seen targeting shops and setting them on fire in Mothabari.
The BJP has alleged the Muslims are targeting Hindus in the area, relaunching its 'minority appeasement' attack on the Mamata Banerjee government.
In his letter to the Governor, Adhikari wrote, "This is to inform Your Excellency that a shocking incident has taken place on 27th March 2025 at Mothabari, Malda where a large group of miscreants belonging to a particular community has targeted and launched a vicious attack on the Sanatani Hindus of the aforesaid area.
"Such despicable acts reflects (reflect) a complete state of lawlessness in West Bengal and there is urgent need of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) to protect the Sanatani Hindus from such attack at the hands of the aforesaid miscreants."
Sharing the letter on his X handle, the LoP wrote, "The Jihadis are out of control and are plundering, bashing and vandalising in an unabated manner. Their targets are Hindus, whoever it may be. Look at the condition of the driver of a goods vehicle carrying cottage cheese. He was bashed up brutally for no fault of his own."
I have written a letter to the Hon'ble @BengalGovernor requesting him to direct the West Bengal Government to get CAPF deployed in Mothabari; Malda District, on an urgent basis.

Targeting the Mamata Banerjee government, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya posted on X, "Communal violence erupts in Mothabari, Dakshin Malda—murderous Muslim mobs rampage through streets, attacking Hindu homes, shops, and cars without provocation. Meanwhile, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee prances around in London, indifferent to the ripping chaos back home."

BJP's recent attack on Mamata Banerjee over 'appeasement politics'
The BJP earlier this year attacked the Mamata Banerjee government claiming Hindu festival Saraswati Puja was not allowed in the state in reference to sporadic incidents in a few colleges.
The saffron party attacked the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government even on the very recent incident of the clash which broke out between two groups over Holi celebrations in several parts of Birbhum.
The government's diktat, which later was claimed to be a request, to not play Holi at popular marketplace Sonajhuri Haat in Shantiniketan also drew massive ire from the BJP, which is aiming to assume power for the first time in the state.
Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari had a fierce faceoff in the Budget session of the legislative assembly when the LoP accused the Chief Minister of appeasing the Muslims.
