Kolkata/IBNS: Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who was suffering from prolonged illness, passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday.

Bhattacharjee reportedly passed away at his South Kolkata residence this morning.

The CPI-M stalwart remained the Chief Minister from 2000 to 2011.
