Has he lost it?': Shiv Sena (UBT) leader blasts Mumbai BJP chief over ‘Khan’ remark after Mamdani’s win
Mumbai/IBNS: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey has slammed Mumbai Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ameet Satam's remark which was passed in response to Zohran Mamdani's New York City Mayoral election win, saying the saffron party leader's "mental state has deteriorated".

After anti-Modi Mamdani won the elections that paved his way to become the first Indian-American Muslim Mayor of the city, Satam said "no Khan" can be imposed on the financial capital of India.
Satam had posted on X, "Just as the color of some international cities is changing, after seeing the surnames of some mayors and witnessing the Maha Vikas Aghadi's vote jihad, it seems necessary to stay cautious in the context of Mumbai..!
"If someone tries to impose a 'Khan' on Mumbai, it will not be tolerated! Wake up, Mumbaikars..!"

In response, Dubey said, "Ameet Satam's mental state has deteriorated. From the day he became president, he realised he was about to be wiped out... That's why he's been making bizarre statements about the mayor of Mumbai from day one...
"May God give wisdom to people like Ameet Satam... I confidently say that a Marathi Hindu will become the mayor here... Under Ameet Satam's leadership, the BJP is sure to be wiped out..."

At 34, Mamdani is poised to become the youngest Mayor of the most populous city of the country.
He led efforts for fare-free buses and congestion pricing. On Israel-Palestine, he backs BDS, opposes illegal settlements, and calls for Gaza ceasefires, while rejecting antisemitism and supporting Israel's right to exist.
Mamdani, who campaigned in languages like Spanish, Bangla and others, had courted row during campaigning after he called Modi a "war criminal" and also drew a parallel between the latter and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
"This is someone who we should view in the same manner that we do Benjamin Netanyahu. This is a war criminal," Mamdani had said when he was asked whether he would join Modi at a public rally.
Mamdani also accused Modi of orchestrating the 2002 Gujarat riots citing his family's roots to the state where the current Indian Prime Minister was the Chief Minister when the incident happened.
