Taking a break from the G20 Summit, Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty visited the Akshardham Temple in the national capital on Sunday.

This is Rishi Sunak's first official visit to India since becoming Britain's Prime Minister.

The security around the temple has been beefed up ahead of their visit.

Before leaving India after the completion of the summit, Sunak described the G20 meet as 'historic' and 'thanked' his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for hosting the event.

"Stronger together. Stronger united," he wrote on X.

"Thank you @narendramodi for a historic G20 and the Indian people for such a warm welcome," he said.

"From global food security to international partnerships, it’s been a busy but successful summit," Sunak said.

Sunak met PM Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit on Saturday and discussed ways to deepen trade linkages and boost investment.

During the bilateral talk, Sunak reiterated the UK’s ambition to deliver a landmark trade deal that benefits businesses and workers in both countries and grows trade in both goods and services.
