On Tuesday, a video went viral showing him urinating on another person, after which the accused was apprehended, news agency ANI reported.

According to the report, the incident took place at Kubri village in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district, where Shukla leaves.

When the authorities arrived at the accused's residence with a bulldozer, his family members asserted that the video, which led to his arrest, was an older recording that resurfaced due to the approaching elections.

Pravesh Shukla has been charged under the National Security Act (NSA) and is presently held in Rewa Central Jail.

In the viral, the accused was purportedly seen urinating on the face of a man in an inebriated state.

The incident was condemned by Home Minister Narottam Mishra. "Strict action will be taken against the accused," he said on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan took cognizance of the matter and ordered stringent punishment against the accused.

He also asked the accused to be booked under the NSA.

Following the Chief Minister’s order, a case was filed against the accused at Bahari police station.

The charges pressed against him include sections 294 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), sections 3(1) (r)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and the National Security Act (NSA).

Shukla’s father, earlier, had said, "There is no way my son could have done this. This is a conspiracy to frame him. We were also very distressed after we saw the video."
