Punjab declares June 1 as holiday in view of Lok Sabha election
Chandigarh/IBNS/UNI: Keeping in view the Lok Sabha polls to be held in Punjab, June 1 was declared as a gazetted holiday for the government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions located in the state.
The gazetted holiday has been declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.
According to the information given by the official spokesperson here on Tuesday, 1st June will be a paid holiday under Section 135 B (1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
This holiday has been declared for all employees employed in any business, trade, industry undertaking or any other establishment.
