S Jaishankar discusses situation in Myanmar with UN special envoy Julie Bishop
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday met UN Secretary-General's special envoy Julie Bishop in New Delhi when they discussed the current situation in Myanmar.
The UN official is currently visiting India.
Last year, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed her as the special envoy to the Asian country.

"Discussed our border stability, refugee situation, trans-national crime out of Myanmar and providing economic support," he said.
Jaishanakr said they exchanged their views on the political situation in the country.
Myanmar is witnessing violent protests where demonstrators are wanting the restoration of democracy in the country.
The military seized power in the coup in 2021.
