'We will not do NRC, nor will we allow to do': Mamata Banerjee in Bengal's Malda
Malda/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday expressed outrage against the Centre's National Register of Citizens and clarified that the politics of polarization by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the name of NRC will not be tolerated at all in this state.
“I promise you, we will not do NRC, nor will we allow to do," asserted Mamata Banerjee while speaking at the administrative meeting in Malda on Thursday, the Chief Minister
She appealed to the people of the state to register themselves on the voter's list to exercise the right to vote as she said, "BJP's antic to implement NRC continues."
"Their new letter suggests those who don't possess all the listed ID proofs will be declared as 'foreigners' & evicted," Banerjee informed and stated that their "divisive tactics" won't succeed.
"Register yourself in the voter list and exercise your right to vote," she added.
Banerjee also attended the 'Trinamool Naba Jowar' organized by the Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
"I'm amazed at the huge crowd supporting this campaign. Seeing the spontaneous attitude of ordinary people, I remember my early political career, " Banerjee reminisced.
