Deepika Padukone opts out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit starring Prabhas: Report
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has opted out of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, which stars Prabhas in the lead, media reports said.
Earlier, Deepika was announced as the female lead in the film.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, the actress had demanded Rs. 40 crore as her remuneration from Vanga's film.
However, the producers were open to pay Rs. 20 crore eventually leading Deepika to exit the project.
Interestingly, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who are also a real-life couple, were approached for the film but they too had opted out over remuneration issues.
Meanwhile, Deepika, who is gearing up to resume work after motherhood, will reunite with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the sixth time on screen with King.
King, which is expected to release in the last quarter of 2026, features Abhishek Bachchan, SRK's daughter Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat.
