Smriti Mandhana’s fiance Palash Muchhal discharged — wedding date still a mystery amid viral chat scandal
Mumbai/IBNS: Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s fiancé Palash Muchhal was discharged from hospital on Wednesday, while uncertainty over the couple’s rescheduled wedding date continues.
Earlier in the day, Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, whose hospitalization had prompted the wedding postponement, was also discharged. Srinivas had been admitted after experiencing heart-attack-like symptoms.
Palash, a music composer by profession, was rushed to a Mumbai hospital with complaints of chest pain and difficulty in breathing, and was later shifted to SVR Hospital in Goregaon, according to media reports.
Following the postponement, Smriti and some teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, removed pre-wedding photos and videos from social media.
Meanwhile, social media circulated alleged screenshots of online chats between Palash and choreographer Mary D’Costa. While some netizens criticized Palash for perceived flirtatious messages, others speculated that the purported affair might have contributed to Srinivas’ health episode.
None of these claims have been independently verified, and the Reddit thread containing the screenshots has been deleted. Neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has publicly responded to the allegation
