'Together all the way through': Virat Kohli shares joy of winning IPL with Anushka Sharma
Bengaluru/IBNS: India's cricket icon Virat Kohli's biggest supporter in his career was perhaps his wife Anushka Sharma, who is a familiar face in the stands of a stadium.
Anushka, a Bollywood actress, was almost regular at the stands during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches since 2014 when she started dating then a young batter Kohli.
On June 3, it seemed Royal Challengers Bengaluru's title win was not an exclusive joy for Kohli but served as fulfillment for the couple, who is often referred to as Virushka online.
The video of Anushka running in joy and hugging an emotional Kohli trended on social media platforms, giving serious couple goals for many.
Taking to Instagram, Kohli wrote,"I’ve seen it for 18 years and she’s seen it for 11. Suffered the same moments since 2014 and celebrated every close win and the madness of our supporters at the Chinnaswamy. We’re both equally relieved and since shes a bangalore girl too this is far more special for her. Together all the way through @anushkasharma."
RCB lift maiden IPL trophy
Kohli's wait for the maiden IPL trophy ended on Tuesday as Bengaluru scripted their first ever title win in the cash-rich T20 tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Kohli moved to tears on ground as Bengaluru's wait for their maiden trophy ended in a moment which felt surreal for the franchise that had unsuccessfully played three finals in the past since IPL's inception in 2008.
Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings in the final defending 190-9 which they piled in their quota of 20 overs.
I always dreamt of winning IPL title with RCB: Virat Kohli
Speaking to former Australian cricket great Matthew Hayden after the match, Kohli said, "This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team. It's been 18 long years. I have given this team my youth, my prime and my experience and I have tried to win this every season that I come and I gave it everything I have... It's an unbelievable feeling. I never thought this day would come."
"I have stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise but I stuck to this team... I always dreamt of winning it with them. This is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart and soul are with Bangalore. This is the team I am going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL," he added.
My heart is for Bangalore, my soul is for Bangalore...this is the team I will play for until the last day that I play the IPL.
