Allegations of irregularities have surfaced in the recruitment process for Grade-A and Grade-B Technical Officer posts in the Electric Department under Society for Entrepreneurship Development (SOFED), following the publication of results on Friday.

The recruitment notification for the posts was issued in September last year, while interviews were conducted in March this year. Soon after the results were declared, several job aspirants raised concerns over the transparency of the selection process.

According to the candidates, many applicants who reportedly performed well in the examination were excluded from the final selection list. The aggrieved aspirants questioned how the results were prepared out of 100 marks when the written examination was conducted for only 85 marks.

They also alleged discrepancies in the marking pattern, claiming that some candidates who secured over 70 percent marks in their degree examinations were awarded less than 20 marks in the diploma category. Further allegations were made regarding certain departmental employees appearing for the examination and allegedly securing top positions in the merit list.

On Saturday, the deprived candidates met SOFED authorities and submitted their grievances regarding the recruitment process. Speaking to the media, they demanded cancellation of the current selection process and called for a fresh and transparent recruitment procedure.
