AR destroyed 1 lakh Ganja plants in bordering Madhupur
The Agartala battalion of Agartala sector under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) destroyed large scale of cannabis (Ganja) plantation worth of Rs. 95 lakh in Sitakala Konaban area under Sepahijala district on Saturday.
Assam Rifle sources said that based on the input received from own source that a large scale plantation of Cannabis (Ganja) plants in the Sitakala Konaban of Madhupur area, near Indo-Bangladesh border; a joint operation was launched by Agartala Battalion of Assam Rifles with police representative from Madhupur police station on Friday.
The joint operation destroyed approximately 1, 00,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants which were planted in 20 to 25 acres of forest land at Sitakala village of Konaban.
AR added that the state police have valued the total destroyed Marijuna plant to an approximate cost of Rs 95 lakh and police started investigation to find out the cultivators.
