BJP hold meeting with all party candidates, confident of victory in polls
The top leaders of BJP in presence of central leaders of the party on Friday held a high level meeting with all candidates of the party at the state election office in Agartala and held discussion over the performance of the party, counting of votes and to tackle situation after announcement of poll results.
The party’s all India leaders two in-charge of the state Dr Mahesh Sharma and Mehendra Sinha presided over the meeting with state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma.
Sources said that the meeting had prominently in the discussion just-concluded assembly election and over post-poll violences. Party leaders expressed their confidence that the party will win the assembly election with absolute majority on the basis of the welfare schemes of centre and state implemented in the state. All the leaders opined that proper implementation of schemes like PMAY, ‘Ujjwala’, Pipeline water supply, ‘Fasal Bima Yojana’, ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ coupled with the rise in wages of MGNREGA workers, Asha employees, Anganwadi teachers and helpers and DA for employees will ensure an easy victory for BJP in the February 16 assembly elections, which result will be declared on March 2nd next.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his confidence that the party will come through the election with flying colours. He said that in case there is political violence in the aftermath of the declaration of results the party will unitedly face them with help from the administration. Unlike in the past the elections, this time the elections were totally peaceful and smooth and there were no untoward incidents, but in case any untoward incident happens after poll results, the party will face them unitedly with the help of the administration”, said Chief Minister.
