BJP leader Kala Manik arrested, granted bail on medical ground
Ruling BJP’s SC Morcha leader allegedly involved with attack and ransacking of another party leader's house in Belonia area of South Tripura district has been arrested on Wednesday.
Police sources said that an FIR has been lodged against BJP’s SC Morcha leader Manik Lal Das alias Kala Manik by the complainant Joydeb Saha, the secretary of Yuva Morcha of Belonia after Manik Lal Das along with his accomplices attack Joydeb Saha and ransacked his house.
Based on the complaint police registered the FIR under section 448,325, 354, 506, 307 and 120(B) of IPC. Soon after arrest, Kala Manik was produced before a local court, but he fled unwell in the court complex.
After the order of the court, a doctor has been brought in the court complex and as per the suggestion of the doctor, Kala Manik was admitted to a local hospital. Later, the court also accepted his bail petition and temporarily granted bail by the magistrate’s court on health grounds and he has been instructed by the judicial magistrate to reappear in court on Friday next, 26th May .
It may be recalled here that ‘Kala Manik’ and his gang had brought in a Ananda Mela party from outside the state for staging shows in the heart of the Belonia town. But the rival gang of BJP supporters led by Joydeb Saha had allegedly objected to the Ananda mela event to stop gambling in the fair.
Which led to tension between the two rival BJP groups in the town and they had started fighting with each other over the past few days.
On Monday night, Kala Manik and his accomplices attacked the house of Joydeb Saha and after physically assaulting him, miscreants had also ransacked the house of Joydeb.
