In an operation carried out by BSF on Sunday, two Bangladeshi infiltrators were at an area under the Tilabazar Border Outpost (BOP) under Unakoti district.

A BSF statement said the infiltrators were apprehended while they were trying to infiltrate Indian territory by negotiating the Indo-Bangla border fence . Apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Sylhet district of Bangladesh.

In another operation BSF troops of BOP Srimatapur under Sepahijala district seized 4000 yaba tablets worth Rs 40 lakh.                                

In a separate joint operation with the Forest Protection Unit, BSF troops carried out destruction of illegal ganja cultivation near village Vijoy Nagar under Sonamura police station of Sepahijala district. A total 75,000 premature plant spread in 15 acres has been destroyed by cutting and burning. BSF is maintaining a high level of alertness on the international border to prevent infiltration and making optimum efforts to maintain a drug free society.
