Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president Ashish Kumar Saha on Thursday said the Congress failed to achieve the expected results in the ADC elections due to caste-based politics by one party and religious politics by another.
Speaking to the media persons after a review meeting on the ADC elections and the Dharmanagar by-election at Congress Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday, Saha alleged that both political strategies were orchestrated from Delhi and that their influence was clearly reflected in the election results.
The meeting was attended by all candidates who contested the ADC elections, along with the candidate for the Dharmanagar by-election and election observers. Senior Congress leaders, including MLA Sudip Roy Barman and former MLA and tribal leader Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, were also present.
Saha further stated that divisive politics is not a positive sign for the future of the state and stressed the need for maintaining social harmony and unity in Tripura.
