The final electoral rolls based on January 1st, 2023 will be published on Thursday after the Election Commission of India (ECI) has given approval to the state election department.

The Election department sources said that the special summary revision of electoral rolls  with qualifying date on January 1st, 2023  as  the qualifying date has started on November9th, 2022 with publication of draft electoral rolls. After completion of the stipulated period  for  inclusion, deletion and correction  of  electoral  rolls, the ECI has accorded approval for  final  publication  of electoral rolls.

 The claims and objections period commenced from November 9th, 2022 and was fixed up to 8th December,2022. Considering the enthusiasm among the common people in order to enroll their names, the period was extended for seven more days up to December 15th ,2022 .

The State Election department sources said that the EROs and AEROs have completed the  disposal  of  all  the claims  and objections by December26th, 2022 and duly  updated  the  electoral  roll  database through  ERO Net.

After completion of updation work, electoral roll data along with analysis and outcome of special summary revision exercise were submitted to ECI for its consideration. Based on this, the ECI has accorded approval for final publication of electoral rolls on January 5th.

After publication, the applicants and all other stakeholders will  be  able to  see final rolls-2023 in all the polling stations, designated locations, SDM Offices,  DM Offices, Tehsil Offices etc. Now the work of printing of EPIC is going on for the newly enrolled electors which will be handed over to them in due course.
