Govt stresses priority for expansion of quality education, CM
The state government is working giving priority to the development of education, health, agriculture and sports sector and has given priority for the expansion of quality education in the state, said Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha after laying the foundation stone through Bhumi Puja and unveiling the blade of Khetramohan New English Medium Academy in Shantipara area of Agartala on Wednesday.
He said, Khetramohan Academy was a long awaited demand of the locals of this area. Their dream is going to be fulfilled today. The academy holds history, tradition and culture.
Chief Minister hoped that the establishment of the academy shall bring changes in social status of the area. He said, the Prime Minister has always said that those who will bear knowledge, shall bear the responsibility to take the country as well as the entire world ahead.
School is the primary step to gaining knowledge and the students must build themselves up properly right from their school, said CM and added that about Rs. 1 crore has been recently approved for improving the infrastructure of Khetramohan New English Medium Academy. This fund has been allotted to PWD department. The Chief Minister informed that necessary steps will be taken to expand and improve the infrastructure of the academy rapidly without any kind of delay.
The Chief Minister said, the present state government believes in action. The government has made efforts to fulfill the basic needs of the people of the state through action. The government is working giving priority to improvement health care services. Inauguration of health centres in different areas in the state, initiative to open Super Speciality Units in 9 branches, promotion of doctors and amendment of service rules for the recruitment of more doctors have been done. A dental college has been established in the state in a very short span of time. However, few vicious circle are trying to create problems in that as well.
Other dignitaries present in the programme were Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumdar, Corporator of AMC Ratna Dutta and West Tripura District Education Officer Rupan Roy. Welcome speech was delivered by Director of Elementary Education Bimbisar Bhattacharjee. The Chief Minister along with other guests handed over hearing aids to 4 senior citizens of the area in the programme.
