Missing youth body recovered from river Howrah, murder suspected
A decomposed body of a missing youth was recovered in mysterious condition from river Howrah at Pratapgarh area under West Agartala police station on Wednesday.
Sources said that one youth Dipankar Ghosh of Sukanta Palli of Pratapgarh Bazar under the same police station was missing since April 6th night and the next morning his family persons registered a missing diary at M G Bazar police town outpost. They had also submitted CCTV footage, which showed another youth identified as KJrishna Ghosh of Khayerpur area allegedly kidnapping the victim.
But, police after detaining suspected accused Krishna Ghosh, released him, but on Wednesday morning his decomposed body was recovered from river Howrah.
The family persons of the victim youth alleged that while disputing some small financial transaction, suspected accused Krishna Ghosh murdered Dipankar and dumped his body in the river water.
The police said that they have registered the complaint and started an investigation to find out the reason for his death. Police also said that till findings of autopsy report, they cannot say anything specifically over the reason of death and if something found illegal on the post-mortem report, the police will act accordingly.
