Mother-in-law arrested after suicide of young housewife

A mother-in-law was arrested by Teliamura police station on Thursday on charges of abetment for suicide of her daughter-in-law.

Police sources said that one housewife Manisha Roy after facing series of atrocities by her in-laws had attempted to commit suicide by pouring Kerosene oil on her body of February 28th last and after the incident , she was referred to GB Hospital in critical condition.

During 33 days long treatment at GB Hospital on April 1st, she succumbed due to her critical burn injuries and on the next day, the father of the victim house filed an FIR against her in-laws with abetment of suicide charges.

SDPO(Teliamura) Prasun Kanti Tripura said that based on the complaint, police registered an FIR under section of 498 (A) and 30(B) of IPC at Teliamura police station and  in the morning of Thursday arrested accused Mother-in-law Namita Biswas from her house. He said that the arrested accused has been produced before a local court for further legal proceedings and police have launched a search operation to arrest remaining accused including the husband of the victim housewife.
