Tireless efforts of doctors, other staff reduces referral cases from AGMC, CM
With improvement of healthcare services with development of infrastructures, the referral cases have been drastically reduced in the state, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Speaking at a review meeting of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GB Hospital on Thursday, Dr Saha said that the AGMC is now standing at par with best medical colleges of the country and to improve the reputation, the faculties , doctors and other staff have to contribute their best as the AGMC is the main hospital of the state.
While highlighting progresses and future activities of the different departments of the college, Dr Saha said that the government is working sincerely to improve health care services from GB Hospital and whenever any problem occurs to render healthcare services to the state’s people, it should be immediately solved.
He said that the decrease in referral cases has been possible because of the tireless efforts of doctors and they should often render their services with humanitarian touches. The hospital authorities should be careful and should ensure that none of the patients visiting hospital could not face any harassment, said Dr Saha also warned that the government will not tolerate any kind of lapses over healthcare services.
He also asked the authorities for early delivery of X-ray, CT scan and diagnosis reports for the fastest treatment process . He also stressed on proper cleanliness of all wards on a regular basis and asked the authorities to shift all departments of medicine in a single roof .
During the review meeting, in-charge principal of the medical college Prof. Dr Subrata Baidya said that after the beginning of AGMC’s journey from 2005, till now there are 79 PG courses with 125 seats for MBBS. Till date, altogether 1353 students completed their courses successfully including 1155 students from Tripura. Health secretary Dr Debasish Basu, director of Tripura Health Services Dr Subhasish Debbarma and other authorities were also present in the review meeting.
