TJU’s biennial conference held, 23 members new committee formed

The biennial conference of Tripura Journalist Union (TJU) organized on Saturday at Agartala press club and elected 23 members Tripura state committee of the union for 2023-25, which was inaugurated by the Food and Civil Supply and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

During the inauguration of the biennial conference of the TJU, the president of All India Journalist Union, Gitartha Pathak and secretary general Sabina Indrajit along with  general secretary Pranab Sarkar, president of Agartala press club Jayanta Bhattacharjee.

The vice-president of TJU, Alok Ghosh presided over the meeting and in the second part of the conference, secretary Pranab Sarkar presented editorial report and many members of including Anupam Bhattacharjee, Tajul Islam, Dipankar Deb, Chitra Roy and Ratan Deb et al delivered their speeches over the editorial report. During the conference, a welcome address was delivered by organizational secretary Santosh Gope and in the last part of the conference; a 23 members committee of the TJU for 2023 to 2025 was elected unanimously.

Among the new 23 members committee, senior journalist Sayed Sazzad Ali has been elected as advisor of the committee, Pranab Sarkar has been elected president, Chitra Roy, Jamal Uddion and Snehasish Chakraborty as vice-presidents, Alok Ghosh as general secretary, joint secretaries Abhishek Dey and Ranjan Roy, organization secretary Santosh Gope and Shyamal Dey has been elected as treasurer of TJU.
