Tripura gearing up to celebrate ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been taken under able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay tribute to the valorous soldiers of the country and to generate patriotism on the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day.
The Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department Dr. Pradip Kumar addressed a press conference at Civil Secretariat on Thursday where he gave details about various schedules and activities.
Dr Chakraborty talked about the importance of the campaign, which started in 2022 to encourage citizens to display the national flag in their houses during Independence Day. The campaign will run from 9th August to 15th August, 2024 where different programmes will be organized across the state so that people take part in the campaign actively.
The events will kick off with the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on 9th August which will be held in all districts under the district administration’s initiative. This will be followed by the ‘Tiranga Rally’ on 12th and 13th August and it will be organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. Tiranga Runs and Marathons will start from 9th August and it will combine fitness with patriotism.
A State-level Tiranga Concert will be organized at the Agartala Town Hall, featuring cultural performances that celebrate the nation’s diversity. Tiranga Canvas will take place from 9th to 13th August where citizens will sign their messages on large canvases along with Tiranga Tribute, a series of events paying homage to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. The campaign aims to reach every corner of the state, with various initiatives designed to maximize public engagement. This includes the installation of selfie points at prominent locations like Amrita Sarovar and Shilaphalkam from 13th to 15th August. The citizens can take selfies with the national flag in these points and upload them on the official website harghartiranga.com.
The campaign will extend to educational institutions, clubs, NGOs and civil society organizations ensuring widespread participation. It was added that national flags can be purchased from fair price shops, facilitated by the Tripura Handicraft and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited, the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. He added that a high level meeting was organized to prepare for the campaign which was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on 1St August and various strategies were formed as well. He expressed his confident that the campaign with the effort of the common people of the state will achieve its goal of fostering a deep sense of national pride and respect for the country’s freedom fighters.
