Two drug paddlers arrested with large quantities of Brown Sugar
Again on Thursday, Agartala city police recovered large quantities of Brown Sugar, a small cash amount, a car and detained two drug paddlers from MG Bazar area under East Agartala police station.
Giving details SDPO(Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das said that based on secret information a contingent of police personnel including officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee and OC of MG Bazar police town outpost (TOP) laid a trap at MG Bazar area and based on the information, they detained a suspected Maruti Ignis car.
In the course of search operation , police recovered two packets of Brown Sugar with 450 empty vials, cash amount of Rs.22,500 and arrested two drug peddlers identified as Pijsuh Das (25) of Sadhu Tilla and Prasenjit Dey of Kathasheola area.
He said that police registered a specific case under NDPS Act and has started investigation to find out the route of these seized drugs and both arrested paddlers will be produced before a local court on Friday with police remand appeals for interrogation to unearth the nexus of the drug smugglers operating in the city.
