Young scooty rider died in a road mishap at Joy Guru
In a tragic road mishap, one youth died on the spot, when his scooty collided with a goods carrying vehicle at Joy Guru area under East Agartala police station on Tuesday afternoon.
Police sources said that the deceased youth was identified as Dipankar Ghosh of Indranagar area of the city who came to Math Chowmuhani Bazar to bring some accessories for the blessing ceremony of his cousin on Tuesday afternoon. On his way to Math Chowmuhani to Indranagar, when Dipankar with his scooty without helmet reached the tri-junction area of Joy Guru, suddenly collided face-on with a goods carrying vehicle (Tata Ace) at heavy speed.
Immediately, Dipankar with severe head injuries fell off in the road and died on the spot. Within a few seconds, local traders and other people rushed to the spot, but in the meantime, accused Tata Ace driver escaped from the spot.
Later, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and they shifted the body to GB Hospital, where the visiting doctor declared him brought dead. A pall of gloom descended in the entire Indranagar area after the sudden death of Dipankar Ghosh, who was running a small tiffin shop at that area with his widow mother.
