Kabul blast: Death toll rises to four, seven injured
Kabul/UNI: Four people were killed and seven others injured as a blast hit the Police District 18 of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on Thursday evening, Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran said on Friday.
The death toll was initially reported to be two shortly after the blast occurred on Thursday.
The blast took place in a market and police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause for the blast, the official said, without providing more details.
Locals said that the blast occurred at around 7:30 p.m. local time in the Dasht-e-Barchi area, inflicting casualties.
This is the second blast in Dasht-e-Barchi over the past two weeks. Previously, in the parking lot of a market in Dasht-e-Barchi, three cars were damaged in a blast.
Dasht-e-Barchi, where a large Shiite community lives, has been one of the most frequently attacked areas in Kabul.
