Kashmiri Pandits hosts 'Street Iftaar' in Srinagar
In a heart-touching instance of communal harmony, the Kashmiri Pandit community members recently organised a 'Street Iftaar' in the historic neighbourhood of Bohri Kadal in Srinagar.
Despite the bustling streets and wet weather conditions, the distribution of Iftaar Kits aimed to foster unity and understanding among people of different backgrounds reported Kashmir News Observer.
Sandeep Mawa, a Kashmiri Pandit, distributed the Iftaar Kits during the event.
Mawa is currently the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front.
Speaking about the kit distribution, Sandeep expressed his joy at seeing people from all walks of life gathering to share a meal and exchange warm greetings., reported KNO.
He emphasised the need for such initiatives to continue bridging divides and promoting peace in the region.
A local named Sahil told KNO: "This Street Iftaar is a beautiful gesture that brings our community closer together. It shows that regardless of our backgrounds, we can come together in the spirit of compassion and brotherhood.”
